Summer In St. Lucia

I recently had the opportunity to visit the beautiful island of St. Lucia with my good friend Heather. St. Lucia is known to be a popular romantic honeymoon or couples spot. However, despite all that, Heather and I had an amazingly fun and relaxing girls trip. We explored the city of Castries, had a fun time at the Gros Islet Friday Night Street Party, learned a few fun facts on our tour of Soufriere and definitely had fun making new friends along the way. St. Lucians are honestly some of the friendliest people I have ever met. If you ever get the chance to visit, you must!

Calabash Cove Resort and Spa

Atmosphere- I loved it here! Everyone at Calabash treated us so kindly and seemed to enjoy every moment of their day. The hospitality was amazing! The staff makes you feel so welcomed, that on the day I left, I felt like I was leaving with a whole new group of friends.

Resort Grounds- Beautiful! Infinity pool, swim up bar, beach access, beautiful gardens and breathtaking sunset views. Everything about this place is amazing! Although Heather and I were there on a girl’s trip, Calabash definitely had relaxing romantic vibes. I would definitely come back, to snuggle a special someone as we drink rum punch while watching the sunset.

Rooms- We stayed in a private Water’s Edge Cottage which was very spacious and relaxing. Inside we had a separate living room, a spacious bedroom with a Queen bed and bathroom with his and hers sinks and a jacuzzi tub. Outside we had a private patio where we had trouble deciding on whether we should soak up the sun on a daybed, day nap in the comfy hammock, take a dip in the private plunge pool or rinse any stress away under the outdoor rain shower. Other rooms include: Jr. Suites and Swim up Jr. Suites. www.calabashcove.com

Things to do

Massage- How can you not get a massage while on vacation? Heather and I were beyond relaxed and amazed by the outdoor massage we received at Calabash Cove. We were set up in the gazebo located along the ocean, where we could feel the cool breeze and listen to the relaxing sounds of the Caribbean Sea

A Carnival Sailing Tour- Learn about the Pitons, catch a few dolphins enjoying their day, tour the botanical gardens, snorkel, have fun and make new friends. Although we chose a low-key tour, check out the website as they have several tour options to suit various adventure styles http://carnivalsailing.com

Gros Islet Friday Night Party- Food, Drinks, Music and dancing!  You will meet many locals as well as other tourists from various surrounding hotels. Many said to go early, because the later it gets the more local it becomes. Regardless, Heather and I had fun dancing the night away!

Sulpher Springs Mud bath- Look 10 years younger! Well that’s the claim at least. The volcanic mud is known to have many minerals to heal various skin conditions and smooth the skin. Bring a camera! If you don’t have a waterproof case, a guide can take a photo for you.
